Greenock Estate Wines derives its’ name from a single shiraz vineyard planted in 1948 near the historic village of Greenock in South Australia’s premier wine region, the Barossa Valley.
The inspiration for this unique wine brand came when three friends – one a renowned winemaker, one a fourth-generation grape grower and the third, a wine sales consultant – Frederick Liu stumbled across this old vineyard and recognized the quality of the fruit.
Their passion for this vineyard and the region, lead to the creation of Greenock Estate Wines. In 2013, commercial production commenced from grapes sourced from this longstanding vineyard. This then grew to more varietals being sourced from family owned, multi-generational grape-growers experienced in cultivating exceptional grapes from the timeless Australian landscape.
The aim of Greenock Estate Wines is simply to make wine for people to enjoy while remaining a wine producer focusing on quality.
